Job description

I advise students on the various aspects of studying abroad, informing them of their options and providing support during the process. I also perform outreach and recruitment duties, including tabling, informational meetings and coordinating activities for International Education Week.

Why did you choose this program?

I chose this program because of its emphasis on interdisciplinary study, being able to take courses across various departments. I also chose this program because of the required language and study abroad components, both of which are extremely valuable.

How did this program prepare you for your job?

Being a study abroad returnee myself, I am able to provide great insight to students also looking to study abroad. The International Studies program also gave me the skills necessary to analyze the world around us, which is incredibly useful when recommending programs to students based on their goals. Finally, the program made me develop a passion for international education and helped give me the tools necessary to have an impact on other students in international education.

What did you enjoy most about the program?

Aside from the wonderful study abroad experience, I also enjoyed the connections I built with my classmates thanks to the smaller program size, as well as the constant support that the International Studies program gives to everyone.

What would you say to prospective students who are thinking about applying to this program?

Don't be afraid to ask questions. The International Studies program has a great support system and you can always find someone to talk to whether it be about scheduling, study abroad, or a career interest.
